(01 Sep 2021) Air Astana will begin a trial of the IATA Travel Pass mobile application on flights between Nur-Sultan and Istanbul from 2 – 16 September 2021.
The IATA Travel Pass mobile application enables passengers to safely store COVID19 PCR test results from certified clinics on their mobile device so that they can easily be verified by the airline, border staff and other official parties.
The application also contains information on certified national laboratories where passengers can undertake a PCR test as well as relevant entry and departure requirements.
Crucially, the IATA Travel pass plays a vital role in reducing the risk of counterfeit test results and vaccination certificates being used to travel.
“The IATA Travel Pass will greatly contribute to the resumption of international air travel, with the application significantly simplifying the organization flights,” said Air Astana Vice President, Alexander Neboga. “This process delivers considerable convenience to passengers, reduces time for ground services and staff contact, as well as heightening identification of fake PCR certificates and vaccinations.”
Air Astana is amongst 70 world’s leading airlines in supporting IATA initiatives to re-open international air travel and adopting testing of the IATA Travel Pass mobile application.
Editor’s note: As the above video interview was conducted over the internet, I would like to apologise that the audio and visual quality are not up to the same HD/UHD quality that it normally would be. Hopefully it won’t be too long until we are once again conducting exclusive video interviews in person, but for now we have to make do with what we have. Thank you.
