0 54

Throughout a lifetime of collecting, Marianne L. Dreesmann-van der Spek & her husband Professor Dr. Drs. Anton C.R. Dreesmann assembled an eclectic but intimate group of beautiful pieces, which combined their love of both Dutch and foreign cultures. Encompassing a broad range of objects, from Old Master Paintings and Drawings to Impressionist Art, as well as Sculpture, Chinese Porcelain, Silver and Furniture, this collection encapsulates Mrs Dreesmann’s wide interests and keen eye for beauty. Highlights of ‘The Marianne L. Dreesmann-van der Spek Collection’ (29 June – 12 July), include a glowing floral still life by Peter Binoit, Kees van Dongen’s striking “Les Chapeaux”, a subtle pencil drawing by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, a spectacular miniature silver table service by Johannes Adrianus van Geffen, a very rare silver salt by the Dutch master silversmith Adam Van Vianen (Treasures | 6 July | London) and a view of ‘Oudezijds Heerenlogement’ in Amsterdam by Gerrit Berckheyde (Old Master Paintings Evening Sale | 7 July | London).
