Celebrating the Best of Australian Design in 2021

In its 18th year, the 2021 Australian Interior Design Awards (AIDA) recognises the best projects across residential, retail, hospitality, workplace, public and installation design, as well as frontrunners in sustainability, emerging practices and the best of each state.

Immediately turning our attention to the residential design category, we were excited to see a collection of standout homes that have graced the pages of estliving.com and est Magazine. Studio Esteta’s Mornington Peninsula House, which made its debut in our 40th issue of est Magazine earlier this year takes its place in the shortlist, alongside La Casa Rosa by Luigi Rosselli and Arent&Pyke – our most-read home feature in March – and Flack Studio’s Potts Point project which took us back in time est Magazine’s Evolve issue. That’s without mention of architects Polly Harbison and Emma Templeton for their Lindfield Home and Sussex House – both top 10 Australian designers in 2020 – and the nostalgic, family-focused alteration and addition Bona Vista by Studio Prineas.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Sydney on Friday, 3 September 2021. See the entire shortlist here.
